About

Thus Said the LORD is one of four (4) blogs I maintain. The content of this blog, Thus Said the LORD is apologetic in nature and is directly informed by biblical text. As regards the biblical text, I have a high view of the Bible, which is to say the biblical text expresses deep and sometimes complex truths that can only be gained through an understanding that these truths are often conveyed symbolically and/or literally.

The Hebrew text in the banner image of the website is Micah 6:8 and is about the values God wishes for us to express in our daily lives.  I translate the verse as follows:

He has declared to you, O’ Man, what is good. And, what is the LORD requiring? But  to do justice, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

I can play banjo and guitar, I can read, write, and speak Norwegian. I also can read and translate Biblical Hebrew and have published a professional translation and commentary on the Genesis creation stories.
