The Aaronic Blessing

Numbers 6:22-27

May the LORD bless you and keep you;
May the LORD make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you;
May the LORD lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.

    Just a quick follow on thought. To confer this blessing, the priest faces the congregation and lifts his hands (just like the cantor in the video). He also conforms his hands into the Vulcan hand sign meaning “Live Long and Prosper“. As a historical fact, Leonard Nimoy, a Jew, came up with the Vulcan sign from his memories of the Aaronic Blessing during synagogue.

    And now you know the rest of he story.
